Top 5 Islands With Special Languages



Paul Tillich Said That - Language... has created the word 'loneliness' to express the pain of being alone. And it has created the word 'solitude' to express the glory of being alone. There are more than 5000 languages spoken on the earth.

Today, we will share the top 5 islands known, with there special languages..


5, Pukapuka Island




Pukapuka is a coral atoll in the Cook Islands in the Pacific Ocean, with three small islets threaded on a reef that encloses a beautifully clear lagoon. It is the most remote island of the Cook Islands, situated about 1140 kilometres northwest of Rarotonga.The language of pukapuka is Pukapukan.It is a Polynesian language.

Pukapukan is also known as "te leo Wale" ('the language of Home') in reference to the name of the northern islet where the people live. The atoll population has declined from some 750 in the early 1990s to less than 500 since the cyclone in 2005. Literacy in the Pukapukan language was introduced in the school in the 1980s, resulting in an improvement in the quality of education on the atoll. Wikipedia





4, Papua New Guinea




Official languages of Papua New Guinea are Tok Pisin, English, Hiri Motu and Papua New Guinean Sign Language. Tok Pisin, an English-based creole, is the most widely spoken, serving as the country's lingua franca. Papua New Guinean Sign Language became the 4th official language in May 2015, as it is spoken by the Deaf population all over the country.




3, Jeju Island




Official languages of Jeju Island is Jeju and Pronunciation of this language is like Cheju.It is a Koreanic language spoken in Jeju Province in South Korea.It differs greatly from the Korean dialects of the mainland. Wikipedia..



2, Iceland




The official language of Iceland is Icelandic.It is a North Germanic language.The vast majority of Icelandic speakers—about 320,000—live in Iceland. There are over 8,000 speakers of Icelandic living in Denmark,of whom approximately 3,000 are students.The language is also spoken by some 5,000 people in the US and by over 1,400 people in Canada, with the largest group living in Manitoba, notably Gimli. 

While 97% of the population of Iceland consider Icelandic their mother tongue,the language is in decline in some communities outside Iceland, particularly in Canada. Icelandic speakers outside Iceland represent recent emigration in almost all cases except Gimli, which was settled from the 1880s onwards.




1, Madagascar


















The official languages of Madagascar are Malagasy and French.It is a Francophone country, and French is spoken among the educated population of this former French colony.Wikipedia.
